University Beavers vs Olympic (Preview)

Location: McAlister
Date: Saturday 31st May
Kick-Off: 12.30pm
Last time they met: First meeting. Olympic played in Capital 11 in 2007.

Match Preview:
The Beavers return to a happy hunting ground in their clash against Olympic on Saturday. McAlister Park was the scene of a 7 – 1 preseason romp for the Beavers, with Shaggy grabbing a brace and Mad Dog rarely being threatened. However, Olympic will be no Captial 14b lightweights, and the absence of Mad Dog and Frontrunner may leave a hole at the back for the Beavers. University will be desperate to stay in touch with the top of the table, but will certainly have their work cut out in doing so.

Where it will be won:
Defence. The Beavers have only conceded two goals in their last two games, but both have come from lapses in concentration – one in failing to react to a short corner, the other directly from a kickoff. Patching these lapses up could go a long way towards taking the three points.

Hitting the target. Lets give ourselves a chance, and follow up on the keeper all day to pinch one.

Key men:
Dave: Donning the gloves and dying to get dirty.
Falconer: Always threatening to induce a red card. Alternatively a yellow card himself for simulation. Either or, the affect on the match could be instrumental.

TAB Odds:
Beavers $1.80
Olympic $4.00
Draw $2.00

Prediction:
Beavers 3 – 2.
